This Healthy Turkey Burger Recipe is so easy to make and produces the best ground turkey burgers! These burgers are not only healthy, but they are moist, juicy, and loaded with flavor. The addition of carrots, jalapenos, and onions enhances the turkey flavors and adds extra nutrients. To get a kick of more flavor Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce are included in the recipe too. These are the perfect turkey burgers to make for summertime grilling.
In my opinion, there is almost nothing better than a juicy beef hamburger! Especially in the summertime when it’s right off the grill with some delicious side dishes. It’s a classic delicious meal and pretty hard to beat. However, sometimes it’s nice to change it up, with a ground turkey burger, when they are made right! I love these burgers are lighter than a traditional burger, are healthier, and still taste fantastic.
When I’m making turkey burgers, I really like adding vegetables to the mixture because they make them even healthier and add texture. Turkey tends to be much leaner than ground beef and often can turn out dry and tough. That’s why I think mixing in some moisture from carrots and onions keeps everything delicious. Also, carrots are high in multiple vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin-A, vitamin-K1, vitamin-B6, biotin, and potassium. So, any time you can sneak them into a family dinner is a win!

Burger Ingredients
- Large carrot
- Medium Yellow onion
- Jalepeno pepper
- Panko breadcrumbs
- Fine sea salt
- Ground black pepper
- Smoked paprika
- Granulated garlic
- Worcestershire sauce
- Hot sauce
- Lean ground turkey
Burger Ingredient Notes
Ground turkey tends to be cheaper than ground beef, which is another plus about this recipe. For a good lean brand, I often use Butterball Farm to Table from Target. Any other brand that has either an 85% or 93% lean will work for these.
If you are not a fan of spicy food, the jalepeno can be replaced with green pepper or red pepper. Although the jalapeno doesn’t add too much heat, you may want to replace it just in case.
To make these burgers gluten-free, replace the panko breadcrumbs with gluten-free panko, or ground gluten-free oatmeal.
If you don’t keep smoked paprika around in your pantry, plain paprika will also work in this recipe. I just like the slightly smokey flavor because it makes them taste more like barbeque. You can choose whatever your personal preference!
