Healthy Turkey Burgers

These Turkey Burgers are a delicious alternative to regular beef burgers! They are juicy and moist, and have lots of flavor from spices and added veggies. They are a perfect healthy summertime meal.

Equipment

  • Grater
  • Cutting board
  • Chef's knife
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Large skillet or outdoor grill

Ingredients
  

  • ½ Cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 Large Carrot grated
  • ½ Medium Yellow onion chopped
  • ½ Jalepeno pepper chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Fine sea salt
  • 1/8 tsp Ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Granulated garlic
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Hot sauce
  • 10 oz Lean ground turkey

Instructions
 

  • Grate the carrot and chop the pepper and onion.
  • Pour the vegetables into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix thoroughly with your hands or with a spatula.
  • Form the meat mixture into patties.
  • Grill them until the center is no longer pink, or cook them on the stovetop in a large skillet at medium heat for 8 minutes on each side.
  • Serve with whatever toppings you choose, in a bun, wrap, or lettuce.

Notes

  • Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
  • After the burgers are cooked, they can be frozen for up to 3 months. Place them in two ziplock freezer bags and seal them tightly without air. Defrost in the fridge for a few hours and warm them in the oven or microwave.
  • The burgers can be meal-prepped at the beginning of the week and make for a great healthy lunch.
